The Wolfeboro Public Library will observe the following policies for acquiring materials for our patrons through Interlibrary Loan.
- The Wolfeboro Public Library will attempt to borrow any material not owned by us for all patrons in good standing.
- All patrons will need to have a current library card with no fines over $1.00.
- Request for material can be made by filling out an Interlibrary Loan request form available at the front desk of the library.
- Request can also be made by phone or e-mail.
- Patrons will only be allowed to have three Interlibrary Loan materials checked out at any one time.
- The Interlibrary Loan librarian will search first in libraries participating in the New Hampshire Automated Information System through NHUPAC.
- If a material is not located in one of the participating libraries, a search will be made in other New Hampshire libraries and then in out of state libraries.
- Availability of materials is determined by the loaning library.
- New materials and audiovisual materials may not be available from all libraries.
- Once a request is placed, it will be active until the material is received, or it is determined that it is unavailable.
- If a material is no longer needed, the patron should notify the library so the request can be cancelled.
- There is usually no charge for Interlibrary Loan transactions, but if a loaning library does make a charge, the patron will be notified before the request is made.
- Payment of any fee is due when book is picked up at the Wolfeboro Public Library.
- Every effort will be made to notify a patron when an Interlibrary Loan has arrived.
- Notification will be by phone or by E-mail.
- Most materials will be loaned for 3 weeks from the date of arrival at the library.
- There will be no renewals available.
- Videos will be loaned for 7 days from the pick up date, and may be renewed once.
- Fines for overdue Interlibrary Loan material will be twice the current library overdue rate.
- Patrons will be notified of overdue Interlibrary Loan books with one notice and if the book is not returned within 15 days the patron will receive an overdue letter.
- Patrons are responsible for paying any fees assessed for damage to or loss of materials borrowed from the library.
- Failure by a patron to abide by these policies may result in loss of Interlibrary Loan privileges.
